I’ve come across dis article in reader’s digest n find it vry meaningful. I would like 2 share it wif all my frens.. Hope u all wil take some time 2 read it.. It goes like dis..
"The day wil come when my body wil lie upon a white sheet neatly tucked under four corners of a mattress located in a hospital busily occupied with the living and the dying. At a certain moment a doctor will determine that my brain has ceased to function n that, for all intents n purposes, my life has stopped.
When tat happens, do not attempt 2 instill artificial life into my body by the use of machine. n dun call dis my deathbed. Let it b called the Bed of Life, n let my body be taken from it 2 help others lead fuller lives.
Giv my sight 2 the man who has never seen a sunrise, a baby’s face or love in the eyes of a woman. Giv my heart 2 a person whose own heart has caused nothing but endless days of pain. Giv my blood 2 the teenager who was pulled out from the wreckage of his car, so that he might live 2 see his grandchildren play. Give my kidneys to one who depends on a machine to exist from week to week. Take my bones, evry muscle, evry fiber and nerve in my body and find a way 2 make a crippled child walk.
Explore evry corner of my brain. Take my cells, if necessary, n let them grow so tat, someday, a speechless boy will shout at the crack of a bat n a deaf girl will hear the rain against her window.
Burn wat is left of me n scatter the ashes to the winds 2 help the flowers grow.
If u must bury something, let it b my faults, my weakness and all prejudice against my fellow men.
Giv my sins 2 the devil. Giv my soul 2 God.
If, by chance, u wish 2 remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs u. If u do all i hav asked, I will live FOREVER."
Dis is d passage from reader’s digest printed in d yr 1978. Yrs b4 i was born. It’s kinda long thou but it’s vry meaningful.. My mum kept many of these books tat my aunt wanted 2 throw..
But it’s such a waste 2 throw such good books away.. Luckily my mum kept it, or else i won’t b able 2 see such a meaningful article. Haha.. The writer’s noble intention is reali touching.. I’m sure not many ppl can do wat he had said nor even THINK about doin tat too..
K la, til now folks.. Nex time when i come across any meaningful article onli i post it when i’m free la.. hahaha..
